WELCOME TO SUGARCUBE Denver

37 Luxury Denver Residences

The Sugar Block is home to the former headquarters of the Great Western Sugar Company, one of the 10 most historically relevant buildings in Denver. After refurbishing and stabilizing the 1906-era building, we at Urban Villages constructed SugarCube, a 10-story mixed-use building with restaurants, three floors of office space, and 37 luxury Denver residences. The thoughtful development of this iconic block exemplifies our approach to urban stewardship, resilient financial performance, and neighborhood revitalization. It also highlights our ability to blend historic architecture with new construction with an emphasis on sustainability.

ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN

A brilliant integration of historic architecture and modern sensibilities

Designed by world-renowned architect Bruce Kuwabara, SugarCube Denver residences showcases our ability to transform an underutilized parking lot into a modern yet historically respectful paradigm. A state-of-the-art development with restaurants, three levels of office, and six floors of residential, SugarCube was the first building in LoDo to utilize solar energy. It also received the Design of the Year award from the City of Denver.

Sustainability

SugarCube is certified LEED Silver for Operations and Maintenance. A composting and recycling program for all residents and commercial restaurant tenants diverts approximately 60% of waste from landfills, and water-conserving fixtures help reduce usage by 30%. SugarCube was also one of the first buildings in LoDo to use a solar array to pass along energy savings to residents.
